I could be a great innovator, artist, or iconoclast
But I think I’ll choose the safer path,
Drop out of the running,
Resign my position atop the high horse
Of the sneering counterculture elite and the lofty intellectuals.
No time for higher thought, I have to lower my nose to the grindstone,
Carve a living for myself of the same absurdity everyone’s faced with.
